‘I don’t say I’m unique, but i am one of the very few of God’s limited signature editions 😉 I Love to love & hate to hate. Very passionate about animal welfare & lending voice to the voiceless, exploited, suppressed & oppressed. Incurably talkative, a little crazy, a die hard romantic & a perennial optimist. That’s what I am. Folks close to me know that, no matter how hard they try, they won’t ever find another like me! Cent percent one of it’s kind! If I were an element, I’d be radioactive!’ – Teju on ‘Teju’
Being an ardent animal welfare activist, she enjoys spending time with her rescued pets- a hen named Pagli, a rabbit named Black Forest, both which were rescued from a slaughter house and a parakeet named Toa which was found by the road side when still a fledgling, not to mention the other community dogs in her lane. Her husband who is also an animal lover, supports her in her various rescue operations. Her hobbies include writing, singing, painting, sketching & voracious reading. That’s so sweet & nice of you Wendy, I’m so honored! thanks a lot for the appreciation & i’m glad you enjoyed my blog as much i enjoyed yours 🙂
🙂
Thank you for liking my blog on Captain. i thought it was a touching story.
It sure is & such stories have so strong an effect on me, that by the time i’m done reading it, i usually end up having tears in my eyes…
Teju, really glad to hear about your working with animals. I am very concerned about animals here in the UK and particularly in India (I’ve been many times – my wife is from Punjab)
I’m back in India again soon but this time in Hyderabad doing some work at a school for Dalit children. Hopefully they can be kept from working in building sites etc.
Look forward to seeing more of your posts! 🙂 My Regards
Thanks Peter, & nice to know your wife is from India 🙂 True, animal welfare is really a global concern today. Ironically, in India where they revered in many ways, they are also at the receiving end of a lot of unimaginable cruelty. I’m trying, in my own small ways to improve the lives of animals that i come across & educate as many children around me as possible about animal welfare & other moral issues, for they are but future citizens. Having said that, it’s still a long way to tread, but slowly & steadily we’ll get there…
I’m extremely happy to learn about the noble tasks you have taken up here. You could consider me as another support for the various causes you have taken up here. I’m so glad to have stumbled upon you 🙂
Likewise Teju I am glad I have found you in the world of WordPress!
I will definitely hope that you might be able to offer me any help or advise. Hyderabad hopefully will be followed by more work in India.
Please note my email address and telephone number (on my blog) and feel free to be in touch 🙂 We appear to share similar ideals!!
Sure, I would love to & we sure are birds of the same feather! I’ve noted your contact details and would love to catch up with guys, the next time you are here, in India. I’ll definitely stay connected 🙂
Hey! Nice blog there 🙂
Thank you Tapish & thanks for stopping by! 🙂
Hi Teju,
the feeling is mutual, I feel very grateful to have stumbled upon your beautiful blog. Always lifts my heart to read about other people who are so concerned about the welfare of all creatures. So good to read all about you and your endevours. Thank you for your comments 🙂
Thank you for the kind words 🙂
Love the spunk!!
Thank you Julianna, I’m glad you did. Like wise, i loved your blog, in its entirety, totally awesome! 🙂
“I Love to love & hate to hate.” love this line 😀
You’ve given a unique name to your hen, ‘Pagli’. haha!
Thanks & oh yes, Pagli, she’s totally crazy 😀 , trust me! Very possessive of me. When she’s around, it takes a real courageous person to brave her painful pecks & approach me. She can be really scary! She’s actually a dog trapped inside a fowl’s body, or so my friends used to say… This is one of the many reasons that prompted me to name her what I have! 😀
Thanks for stopping by, do keep visiting 🙂
Hi Teju – thanks so much for taking the time to browse my blog and then hit that follow button. Really appreciate it. Love that you rescued your pets – says a lot about your obviously big-hearted character! Thanks again =D

Hello Teju, thank you for visiting my blog. I thought I would return the favour and explore yours and I am very glad that I did because it looks like we have a lot in common.
I too am extremely passionate about issue relating to animals, habitat preservation and environment (as they are all connected). I thought it odd that we both have a similar educational background as well. I was an english lit major and went to school for entertainment business management.
I’ve also travelled extensively in India and fell in love with your country. I started my trip in Bengaluru actually 🙂 I would love to live there one day!
WOW Jenny! I’m flattered & I also love the fact that we turned out to be birds of the same feather! How awesome is that! I agree with you, ours is an enchanting, colorful country 🙂
Looking forward to seeing you back here soon, preferably in Bengaluru, we could hang out together and I could even help you shop around, by negotiating the prices in our local language(s) here 😉
So glad that I stumbled upon you, stay in touch & drop by often!
I definitely will! I would absolutely love that!!! I only spent a few days in your city and I would love to go back and stay longer. Enchanting is definitely the right word.
I became fairly decent at bargaining after three months, but I am sure you could still teach me a lot! It’s hard! Once I got used to it, it was really hard to go home and pay the advertised price!! Haha.
Looking forward to read more of your blog 🙂
hahaa bargainig skill is a must have here! 😀
Oh yes, would love to have you here, and I assure you that its going to be totally fun, you’ll enjoy everyday of your stay here! 🙂 Hoping to see you soon… Keep visiting 🙂

Thank you so much for this wonderful award of appreciation! It’s such an honor to be receiving it from you!
I just added this new feather to my ‘Awards’ page!
From your comments I can feel that you are happy, excited and delighted to receive this nomination. In fact your happiness and excitement makes me happy too. This is the positive side of nomination.
To keep the standard high of this award, I have reduced the no. of nominee from 14 to 5 only. If you like to change this, you can but I think more dilute the credibility.
Have nice time.
I am indeed very delighted to be one of the chosen few from a handful of five! 🙂
And it’s a good thing that you have reduced the maximum number of nominees to five, because I totally agree with you- it does reduces the credibility. I’ve stuck to 5 too. Thanks again.
I have seen that and liked your post.Thank you so much.

Thank you dear friend, the pleasure’s entirely mine & I’m really glad that I stumbled upon you 🙂
Nice to meet you, Teju. I have no idea how we have met, perhaps via Vegan LinkedIn? Via other blogs? Whatever the case, you and I have our love for animals in common. I like your header with the male and female house sparrow: beautiful colours and composition of the birds between berries. I read you go in winter hibernation. May I wish you a wonderful snooze? Make sure you wake up in time for the holiday season.
Thank you dear Paula, the header, well, was chosen with great care & for several reasons, I’m glad you were able to see many of those (one of it being that, the house sparrows featured in here are a couple) & liked it, really appreciate it.
So glad to have stumbled upon you, the best part being the fact that we are birds of the same feather! Sure, will be back just in time 🙂
Hi Teju, thanks for dropping by and reading all those posts.. 🙂 Is there anything you don’t do? So happy to connect with you, Teju. You have a wonderfully impressive bio, but what speaks to me the most is your adopting/rescuing, from slaughter houses, your new fury/feathery family. I also am an animal advocate, my husband and I have been rescuing dogs from kill shelters for 28 years. Thank you for now following my site as I’m sure your energy there will help with our efforts to get profits to help get more dogs out of kill shelters. Blessings to you. Paulette
Thank you for the wonderful words, dear Paulette. The feeling’s totally mutual & I’m equally elated to have stumbled upon you & your lovely blog! More than anything else, the fact that we are birds of the same feather, who are concerned about the welfare of God’s other feathered & furry children, is what made me really happy. You guys have been doing a lot a kind & noble work, the world needs more people like you. God bless you and all your future endeavors. I’m on a break from blogging & I hope to return in the first week of Jan. Take care till wee catch up again & stay blessed! 🙂

A big bear hug & lots of love 🙂
oh yea, we’ve got to be birds of the same feather! Remember we were best of friends once up on a time while in school?! I think we should catch up some time! 🙂
True, i was such a monstrous brat back then worrying the life of our teachers! You know what we definitely should be catching up & soon that too.
And oh by the way, I did not miss the liberal usage of past tense in your comment like- ‘were’ & ‘once upon a time’… 😀
you ‘were’ & ‘are’ still my best buddy! 😉

Well, my second semester exams are round the corner (commences from the 11th of June), and I was busy preparing myself for the same.
